It's a small world after all
I just absolutely had to share the craziness that has been going on in L.A so far. It's just mind blowing what a small world it is. So get this - yesterday I'm sitting at breakfast at the Westin minding my own business and talking to one of my co-workers when the hostess walks by with a guest to seat him at a table. I look up, and see Dan (I used to babysit his kids when Bryan summered at his firm, and he and his family live in our 'hood)! What are the odds? So I nearly jump out of my seat and practically yell "DAN!". I mean, what are the odds that he's 1. in LA and 2. staying at the exact same hotel as me?? Anyway, we caught up for a bit, and then made plans to meet for dinner tonight.
That brings me to tonight's craziness. I'm standing in the lobby waiting on Dan for dinner when I look up and see Dustin (Bryan's college roommate) walk past me. I almost couldn't believe my eyes at that point. So I yell out his name, and he turns around in complete shock. Again, what are the odds? He lives in Charleston, and travels a lot for work, but the odds of us both being in LA and at at the same hotel are pretty much slim to none.
I've detemined that my hotel is the center of the universe. That's the only thing that explains it. Anywhoo - in other exciting news they're filming the new Batman movie on the street in front of my hotel so tonight I'm on celebrity look-out. Stay tuned for sightings.
In work news, I got up at 3am this morning in order to be at the facility by 4:30 for an inventory observation. I used to think cash counts were early....boy was I wrong. On a positive note though, I thought it was fascinating, and I really enjoy getting to spend time with all the factory workers. Now I must get some serious sleep though. Here's to running into more people I know tomorrow. :)
